Cranial Osteopathy-a work in progress
Living my potential. My goal. In work, play, love, and life. Why study more? Why push harder? Why ask the questions that few others will? What's the sense in accumulating more knowledge? Because as human beings we can gather facts, use reason to weave them, and create solutions to help soften the pains we experience.
As a child I loved the fantastic. Always drawn to magical feats, bordering on the edge of human ability. I would dream of performing many and although I never entered the world of sorcerers, that fire of belief remained aflame. It's funny how people who believe tend to accomplish feats, physical and spiritual, that, to many, seem impossible. Never attempted, never accomplished. Yet it's the few who believe that inspire the rest.
Left foot forward, feet together, jump high, twist full circle in mid air, and kick a limply held board above my head so fast that the shear speed of it is the breaking force. 2nd Dan black belt, 16 years old, achieved. The near impossible. Martial arts held that magic for me. My training was in Taekwondo. But my favorite definition was always Karate, meaning "empty hands." No tools, no weapons. Just your hands. The finest instruments ever made. Well taught, they perform wonders.
Hands that sense. Trained to deliver a simple, natural method of cure. That was the biggest draw for me. Osteopathy allowed it. Use your hands to restore the structure, and the body will heal itself. What! No sophisticated machinery. No revolutions of medicine needed. Surely this is heresy. But guess what? It works. And better than most of what's out there. Without the side effects of medicines and the irreversibility of surgery to worry about. So I entered Osteopathic medical school, excelled skillfully in hands-on diagnosis and treatment, finished a hospital rotating internship, obtained my license to practice medicine, and have never looked back.
May you follow your own light and never stop shining.
